Namibia 2017 – again it is autumn in the Southern Hemisphere, and again I am in Namibia looking forward to a new experience. Our most professional tour leader Christoph Fisher of https://www.beautysurroundsyou.com/ and our local guide Chapacca made this trip a stunning unforgettable experience. Christoph showed us landscapes and scenery unimaginably beautiful, and the photography we brought home with us is testament to this.
I wanted to make sure that, going to Africa, this time I would definitely see African wildlife in Nature, not in a Zoo. And so I booked, as a precursor some time in a Game Reserve in South Africa, close to Kruger National Park. The reserve was Timbavati. And yes, I saw all the wildlife, the exposure was more like hunting, not on foot, but in a well equipped 4WD and the guides had no problem “off road” hunting through bush and shrub until we found what I had come for. Honestly, not exactly the style I had expected and liked, but still, it produced results. And then Etosha , game drives as well, but this time only on a well maintained network of access roads, absolutely no going off road , but what a difference, wildlife in abundance, you only sometimes needed some time and patience. The abundance of all species of wildlife was breathtaking. If you remember what you were told about Paradise, well, this was it, just Adam and Eve missing. Just imagine, a steady stream of Elephants in groups of about 12 continuously coming and going at a waterhole [we stopped counting at about 80], mixed with Giraffe and Springbok and Kudu and Zebra and Wildebeest and Eagles and …. you just name it, it was there.
